Title

ARGOS
LGBTshirtQIA+
Vijftig jaar queergeschiedenis op t-shirts

Description

LGBTshirtQIA+ showcases a piece out of IHLIA's LGBTI Heritage t-shirt collection. This piece is part of a 5 part series that cover t-shirts from various periods, areas and subcultures. The pieces are contextualized through interviews, essays, photos and poetry. Photographer Ari Versluis brings these stories into the present by letting the shirts be worn by LGBTQIA+ people in the present.
The model on this poster is Raoni Muzho Saleh, who's wearing an Argos T-shirt, the first leather bar of Amsterdam. The inside contains an explanation of Argos by Lex van Rens, as well as an interview with Raoni about queerness and queer togetherness by Leendert Sonnevelt.
