Title
COC's Shakespeare Club Daily program
Description
Flyer and program for COC's Shakespeare club taking place in the courtyard of the Amsterdam Museum during Amsterdam pride 2018. COC's Shakespeare club is a relaxed hang-out spot, with the main goal of faciliating community, connection and culture. This flyer (number 7 in the series) highlights the events happening on August 3rd.
COC's Shakespeare Club is titled after COC's name during its founding in 1946: Shakespeare Club. Back then being LGBTQIA+ was taboo, so a pseudonym was chosen to hide the actual purpose of the club. In 1949, the club renamed itself to Cultuur- en Ontspannings Centrum (Culture and Leisure center) or the COC. The COC is committed to equal rights, emancipation and social acceptance of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Netherlands and abroad.
